Have you thought of the possibility that you're just overthinking things and Valve just is having fun with the theme? Which seems to work, since you made this thread.
7 Swans a Swimming
6 Geese a Laying
4 Calling Birds
3 French Hens
2 Turtle Doves
and a Partridge in a Pear Tree
That's 23 birds in just one song (verse)... more if you include all the repeats (in the song).
I just saw a dead bird on a table earlier, what a way to go.
As a kid your taught to look out for and feed them in the winter, here anyway.
Birds have been a common theme on Christmas cards for a long time.
Strange, we have birds all year round in Europe. If anything, we have less birds in wintertime than in all the other seasons
Really? Mkay, I googled 'christmas card' and checked the images. Sure, I see a few (no more than 5) cards that have bird on it. The following animals are apparently shown a lot more often on Christmas cards than birds: cats (WAY more often), hedgehogs, squirrels and raindeer/moose. And those are just the animals. Other things are a LOT more often pictured on Christmas cards than birds. So next year the theme for the winter sale will be cats then, I suppose.
This seems more plausible, indeed
Ah well... Anyway: a merry, bird-rich Christmas to everyone!
