Why PayPal offers only one payment option? I have two cards!
Hi, in my PayPal account I have defined two cards, VISA (debet card) and MasterCard (credit card). I have set MasterCard as default and it works in all payments in other stores and until now it also worked when I paid via PayPal for Steam item. But now when I want to buy something from Steam and select PayPal method, I see only VISA card.

In PayPal payment window is a link "add a new card". I did it and added MasterCard, then I got a message "car was added" and in my PayPal settings I really see both cards and MasterCard as a default. But this damned Steam still offers only VISA and I don't know why!

Steam only accepts PayPal that’s backed with a bank account in certain regions due to fraud
My bank account is OK. I tried to purchase some stuff from Trainz Store and it was OK, MasterCard was displayed as a default.

Again to use PAYPAL the method you I use must be backed by a bank account. That’s why the debit backed card works but not the credit card backed PayPal payment

Visa debit card is the same as Mastercard here in Australia, there can be only one so if you have 2 cards I think one is expired or close to it .
Visa Debit card ie Master Cards are linked to your bank and you can link Paypal to it as well.
it is not a paypal card per se.

On your debit card (Visa), the computer checks that the balance of your account is sufficient to cover the purchase, and the store can draw the money from the card immidiately.

Credit cards are riskier because the account isn't checked the same way so it is possible for you to overdraw the account. In addition, your options to challenge the payment are greater than with a debit card since the payment doesn't happen immediately.

Administratively, it is safer and easier only to accept debit cards. It is up to the store what kinds of cards they accept and what risks they're going to tolerate.
