Hidding DRM'ed EA Origin Games in Store
Is there any way in Steam to automatically hide games that require 3rd party Origin DRM in order to play ?
I mean, it is cumbersome (read: a PITA) to go through all Electronic Arts games one by one to check only to be disappointed (i.e.: some Need for Speed games).

Thanks for your help!

that way it will ignore even games that don't request Origin, but whatever, it works, ship it !
Thanks a lot

Is this part of a boycott or are you having technical or account problems?
Porobably nothing will disturb you if you happen to play one of the games you like but want to remove.

OP do you mean if games have origin required because this is super easy. release dates from 2011 and before have noDRM all these new ea games have it so release dates from 2020. so like bf3,me3,fifa,mirror edge 2 etc.

I don't have an active account and don't want another launcher installed, nothing else.
(Note: I have original musical software which bloats my computer already with painful protections, i.e.: iLok)

I don't know about Steam, but EA games on GoG all require Origin regardless of release date. I'll never get to play the ones I purchased before the change of policy. Should have downloaded them right away. :(

That's not entirely accurate, there are also some new games that don't require Origin. Examples include C&C Remastered, Star Wars: Squadrons, and Apex Legends. Most all of them require an EA account, but not all of them require Origin.

I dont see the reason to not play games if they are with origin.
Its not different to steam.

I would appreciate this option as well. I don't want another DRM system on my PC hindering performance, steam is the one I chose to roll with.

Browsing games without having to open them one by one to find out if they require an extra DRM bloatware would feel better as an experience.

No, Electronic Arts games on GOG don't require Origin. I have several different EA games on GOG and none of them require Origin.

Might you be confusing this with Steam which does have games that require secondary authentication clients? I know I had that problem with my Steam copy of Child of Light, which requires Uplay, and the Uplay instance of this same copy also in turn requires Steam, which just makes things silly.

You might as well just hide all EA games except Command and Conquer Remastered, and Apex Legends. Since with the release of Mass Effect Legendary Edition today it looks like EA is abandoning what they said about not requiring Origin client.

On the plus side new releases have proper Steamworks integration.
