How long do refunds usually take for debit cards?
About a week ago i refunded a game, but i haven't reiceived my money yet. I'm a bit worried because the sales will end on the 2nd of November and the game i'm looking to buy is definitely out of my price range undiscounted.

If the refund was approved then you wait for your credit card company to process the refund.

Contact your credit card company for an update.

Up to 14 days as stated in the email you should have gotten.

Unless you refunded it within 24 hours of purchase, in which case the charge was simply canceled and no money changed hands.

I'm aware of that, but the 14th day is the limit and would be too late. I want to know when do refunds usually arrive.

I refunded it in less than 24 hours but i still can't buy the other game. I'm certain i would have enough money because the refunded one costed 30 bucks while the other is 20.

If it's a credit card, why are you waiting? Feel free to buy whatever you want now and when the refund arrives, it'll fill the credit hole.

Oh, mine was a typo. Debit card, not credit card.
Apologies, i'm not very lucid today.

Well, if your bank account doesn't allow for any credit (mine does, for example, I can overspend with my debit card as long as I pay back sometime, meaning I can take a credit on my debit card) and if your account is empty, your best option is to drink tea & wait. Or pray (which's got about the same effect).

In future, remember not to use refunds as a payment source. The bank system that the world has is slow, the basic reason being they don't shift money around, they shift debt around. Another forumer has posted a thorough explanation on how exactly this works.

I prefer buying gift cards rather than paying with my debit card because i need that money for other necessities, never had to refund before. Since steam wallet refunds take less than 24 hrs i've never had this issue before and wasn't aware of it.

Make sure the charge is there or not. It shouldn't be at all since you refunded in the first day.

However since debit, that could be your bank holding on to the money still.

I pay with PayPal which pulls money directly from my bank account. I agree with you on necessities, but paying wit prepaid cards and paying from my bank account both results in me paying. One way or another, I have 10 bucks less when buying a 10 bucks game (except there's no 10 bucks games, for reasons I still don't get, they're 9,98 bucks meaning prepaid cards suc by default as there's no way I won't get stuck with some remains).

Because of the stupid phenomenon called Psycological Pricing[en.wikipedia.org]. I hate it and just auto round up in my head.
