So do Steam moderators don't have problem with racial slur "GYP"?
Most of you are clever enough to know from what is this abbreviation derived, and yes it is a racial slur on par with N word. If not, please google it I don't want to get banned. If we striving for equality then please make it applicable for everyone. I didn't write this post to start arguing who has good and bad experience with certain group of people. I came here to make sure that everyone is represented equally, and hence my question is if Steam allowing to omit certain group from this standard. Thanks

I dont even know what GYP means or that it even is a word.. this is the very first time in my life I read it
That's good for you, that means you are not being harmed by presence of this word. It is attached to the most hated group based mostly in the Europe. Unfortunately I've seen how can be hate by words transformed into actions. Therefore my concerns.
if you feel someone has violated the forum rules, report the post. you can also block the user and you will only see that they posted, what they posted will be blocked from your view unless you decide to view it.

report the post, keep on topic, do not feed the trolls by responding to their bait

The Romani have better things to do with their time then to complain about people using ♥♥♥♥♥, or the slang I never heard until today on Steam, so unless you directly represent the entire Romani population, please don't worry so much about this.

Believe me, I understand how much the Romani people have suffered, but I am reasonably certain they're not really going to be as up in arms as you are.

At least the full G word is censored here. So, there's that.
Thank you that is good to hear frankly. The sad reality is, that most of them are integrated fully into the society and live successful life, but because of the prejudice they won't admit that they are belong to this group. And obviously because they are people like us, they are reading Steam discussion boards. So why not tolerate them, or not to be vocal about certain issues.

Thanks for suggestion. I reported it yesterday, and because it is still on, I guess that it didn't violate the Steam community guidelines. Hence my post.

Sometimes it takes time for the moderators to get to the reported post.
OK Jazz thanks for assurance.

And again, unless you directly represent the ENTIRE Romani population, you need to change your tactics here.
Honestly, what is your goal here? Nobody represents the entirety of any population, that doesn’t make slurs okay. Appointing yourself voluntary defender of racists is really not a great habit.

You need to understand that stopping the tide of anti-Romani hatred needs to be done outside of Steam.
Trying to stop it on Steam, is pretty much a lost cause.
You can only hope moderators will get rid of things like that, and it also depends on a lot of factors, like who the moderator is that gets the report, and their biases, because they're human, not soulless machines. :P

As much as you are offended by this, and I do understand why, remember, sometimes it's easier to stop things in the real world, then it is on a forum.
OK David I don't want to become this post inflammatory or too woke or whatever, it is an honest question and I consider this post as answered. Thanks

Maybe because of my experience which showed me the other side of the coin. And nobody speaks for them because they are hidden or struggling to get out of the poverty. You are right, thanks for your input.

Oh, I was talking to David about his weird choice to jump in the middle here. I’m entirely in support of your position.

OK David and Gus, so technically we are on the same page, thank you very much for not fighting each other.

Yes Gus later I realised you talked to David, thanks for support.

That's perfectly fine, thanks :)
From the context of the post I reported, it was used as a slur. I am not advocating to ban the word because I know where censoring leads to. Author of that post used that word with negative connotation and I want to be sure that we won't tolerate that here or at least educate people to avoid this term.

Yup. Report, block, do not engage with the user and move on.
