They are all scams.

Even Alden tried warning people when they were impersonating him...

Steam personel will never, ever contact anyone regarding steam issues of whatever kind on ANY other platform than in steam's own message system. ANYONE claiming to be steam admin on the likes of Discord or anywhere else is scammers and fake.

There is no reason for Valve to use discord. Ever.

Why would Valve contact you over Discord when their platform is Steam?

They wouldn't even use the steam chat system, they would send an account alert or something(unless that's what you're reffering too)

Account alert or PM through your Community Messages, yes.

Not chat, the green/ungreen envelope up to the right have the messages from Steam support or others. Hope it's more clear.

I wish I got more trying to scam me. It's honestly fun to screw around with them and make them bark up the wrong tree.

Sure, you can report them and be on your way, but as an added bonus, the more time you spend screwing with them, the less time they have to try and scam others.

Not how it works. At this point they're all automated by bots pretty much.

no employer from steam will ever contact you unless you contacted them via a support ticket
or you receive a community message which is 1000% different from ANY chat message

A PM is used for reminders from moderators in lieu of warnings so it doesn't count against you like a warning. Can also be used by mods for just private messages so they don't have to friend users and play in the chat.

Valve employees usually ask for general logs for troubleshooting issues but not asking for account info.
