High CPU temp when steam is open
ive recently changed my laptop fan and was checking the temp and realized when steam is open even in idle without downloading and minimized my temps goes to 70-80
but when i exit steam it goes back to 50-60 and after a while drop to around 40

task manager says that there is no cpu usage for steam so... idk is there something wrong here?
what should i do?

Any other processes with high usage in the task manager and the ressource monitor?
And how long does it take to drop again?
Looking at my own ressource monitor, STEAM only uses a neglectable ammount of CPU power even with multiple windows open etc. (1% for all processes)

Also do you hear the fan spin up when reaching those temperatures. I guess at 70-80 degrees it should be audible for sure.

at idle
total cpu usage is 6% and its for firefox and vpn
steam shows average of 0.7% usage
i manually changed fan speed to 100% and it cools down
on auto its 50% for 70
and 12.5% for 50

try to reinstall your pc , maybe some miner got injected in your steam app.. or at least run antivirus check and reinstall steam app

Also probably adjust the fan profile a bit for a more conservative approach if you don't mind the bit of extra hiss.
