I would like to nominate Cyberpunk 2077 (the only big & totally new game in 2020 for me), but it seems that's not possible^^ (vote is not saved. because this game will be released after the "steam awards" perhaps).
Then, I come on the forum here to have some advices for a very nice game desserving to be nominate "GOTY", but i feel like lot of people aren't able to vote for a GOTY this year (many fun little games, many remastered games so "déjà-vu", but actually, there aren't very nice games this year until now.... except assassin's creed valhalla (but i'm not fan of this opus....)
Given your comment I'll jump to conclusions and say you're a PS fan. You could just vote RDR2, Death Stranding, HZD or any of the other console ports we got this year(quite a few were added around June. Detroit: Become Human comes to mind aswell).
Just... do that.
But it helps prevent the same few games from winning multiple categories every year.
^^^
Seriously there are hundreds of new games this year on PC and many of them are wildly successful, well done, amazingly fun, or superior in other ways.
Why would there be a game of the 'year' but have it open to any game from any time? Why not just put Portal 2 up there? its obviously nonsensical to have a 'game of the year' but magically allow it to encompass any game. Its not like literally any awards ceremony doesn't do this already.
Why do we need Skyrim to keep winning 'GOTY'? Or like GTAV.
