Steam awards need fixed

Why are there so many awards to give out, but you can only give 1 to each game? How many games released in 2020 does Steam think we own?? I can only fill out 4 of the reward categories, and one just ends up going to golf with friends because I don't have any other options. This is a really stupid way to vote for awards. What does everyone else think?

You don't need to own the game to nominate it for an award. It's fine, prevents people from spamming the same few games with every nomination.

I don't own a VR game, so I simply voted for Alyx. Don't know any other VR games released this year.

Yeah, but like, I can't vote Risk of Rain 2 as Game of the Year AND Best Soundtrack? Why? It is absolutely my vote for both.

At least they only allow games released this year. I'd also like to put the same game for 2 awards where it fits.

Sure it's possible for a game to be worthy in every category. If "everyone" else agrees other people will probably pick other categories too.

I have the opposite problem. Too many games and not enough categories. I end up not nominating two games I liked the most this year, because they don't quite fit anywhere.

Because users nominated a couple games multiple times in the past and Valve put a stop to it. Only 1 category per game now.

Whats the point of voting for something u dont own and prolly never will?

You can still find the game visually stunning or like the soundtrack for example. Or you could plan on buying the game and are waiting for the right deal to come by.

With things like Youtube, Twitch etc. around you can experience games without playing them firsthand. So why wouldn't you be able to nominate one then?

No problem. I think I've played one 2020 game so far, and I've given it a thumb-down. I nominated it anyway so I could get the "play a game you nominated" checked, and filled all other nominations with stuff that Steam offered me, or a Steam store search listed with a 2020 release date.

I believe that this is the most random award nomination I've done since they started doing it, with not even a single "match".

Use the Steam link for the year 2020 games.
click on the Trumpet next to new comments top right scroll down to best games for 2020 go through the months then click on one and it takes you to the store page nominate it, here you will get a list to choose of them.
Thats how I did it . I dont own some of these games.
