Controller calibration
Hi! I have few questions for developers.
I've been using Steam for a long time, and God knows what I've done to my account. Especially with controllers. I've been playing with calibrations, 241100 workshop files for controller calibrations, deleting them from Steam's cloud database etc..
Now, one mystery i cannot figure out it's really bothering me, and it started 5 years ago when I started playing rocket league. I'll try to explain...

First, just to let you know, I'm not interested in cheap tutorials like enable this button, etc.. I know where is the problem, I just don't know why we don't have access to do stuffs needed to solve it. @austinP is the controller guru, i hope I could get straight answers from him.

So, stuff is pretty straightforward. Example. I buy new ps4 controller. Conect it, start Steam. Platform
recognize steam hardware registration & makes immediately two 241100 controller config.vdf files - BOTH NAMED AS (when you open files) - #steamconfig_steamcontroller# ( not exact, but something like that) and, under it values for each section. That is the optimal, default 2 times calibration for controller.

Now, if I delete it from cloud - unsubscribe from it by my ignorance at first, 241100 personalized controller calibration disappears. After that, if I want to make same calibration, in order to set it back to default, it is SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE to get same 2 time calibration with same in-file title. Only option is to buy new controller.

If I try reccomended 2 times calibration, I could make 1 normal , default #steamcontroller_steamcalibration# , and after that only #ps4_controller#.

Now, that wouldn't be any problem, if controller in game was calibrated good (brand new, no stick drift or smth like that) . But, controller behaves like it is broken, sticks are pretty bad and not precise. That means normally, calibration is bad. Trust me, i tried literally everything. Even changed motherboard thinking that USB ports were sending bad current to controller. And changed ~10 ps4 controllers, 3,4 accounts etc.

P.s. I don't want to change it to xbox controller or some else, fyi. And no 3rd party controller softwares installed. Clean windows, all clean.

I know with certainty that if I could simply erase my controller devices from Steam Hardware Registrations (which means directly from Steam's cloud database) I could solve my controller problems. Steam would again register my controller as new hardware, make 2 new auto-calibration personalization.vdf files and it would be set.

Why no one makes this section better? Why we don't have permission to delete hardware registrations from cloud? Do I need to aks developers to delete hardware registration manually from cloud ? Could you offer us any solution for this? I mean, I can make 50 calibrations for same controller, and It'll work crapier and crapier.. it is literally crutial to gamers, on order to be more competitive in games. I've seen lot of people complaining about this stuff.. trust me, it is bad calibration issues...

Any solution for this? Suggestions? Ideas? Could you delete my personal steam hardware registrations?

fun trivia: you have used 504 words to ask about something you describe as «pretty straightforward»

Imagine how much hours I've spent too get to the core of problem.

always choose configuration on enable deadzones and put them to at least 0.1 in the Steam controller configurator... No need to go into the calibration for anything..
