WHERE IS FAR CRY 6?!!

Why is far cry 6 not being released on steam? I thought steam was supposed to be the biggest and best gaming platform out there, yet they can´t even get one of the biggest titles this year in their stores, so I am just wondering what´s happening. Peace out.

Far Cry 6 is on the uPlay store because it's a Ubisoft game.

Because in 2019 starting with the Division 2 Ubisoft removed future games from sale on Steam and only now sell them on Epic and Uplay. It was a clever move as it generated extra sales on their own Uplay platform because those not wanting to pay and play on Epic bought it on Uplay.

We already have 8 Far Cry games on Steam and they're pretty much the same game reskinned from 3 onwards, so just play one of those.

Another fantasy. Steam doesn't get games to the platform, the game developers/publishers choose to sell their game on Steam.

Steam doesn't 'get' games. It is a Store that publishers/developers may use to sell their games, they have to pay to set up a store page and Valve then takes a cut of each sale. Clearly Ubisoft would prefer to sell via their own store.

Valve doesn't control what publishers do. Valve can't make publishers release games on Steam. Valve is not in the business of begging or paying for releases on Steam.

Ubisoft is large enough that they're not beholden to releasing games on Steam to be profitable.

tbh I don't mind ubisoft stop selling their games on steam:

1. they ( uplay / ubisoft connect ) already support my local currency, Indonesia rupiah
2. have good region pricing
3. have 20% discount
4. they support local payment method.

and yes, I already PO farcry 6 on uplay ( roughly 35 USD , with discount ) , can't wait

Because it's a Ubisoft game and they've chosen to use their own distribution service. Pretty simple.

Well large enough that they think they can manage going it alone but looking at who else came back to Steam rather than continue alone since Ubisoft made that decision its going to be interesting to see how it shakes out long term
