(the settings can revert itself from time to time, that's already happened to some users).
I changed the donwnload settings to 16 kb/s and it worked. That means it is downloading something tha t is not related to the library. Is there a large client patch going on or something?
You can also try using Big Picture mode to see if it shows there.
Didn't know that. Valve finds always new ways to make things more confused.

Yeah, probably that's the cause.
GOT IT. It IS updating a hidden game. Why on earth did i leave it installed in the first place? Thank you.
The OP left the game installed but marked it as hidden so Steam will update it. Hardly a ploy on Valve's part as uninstalled games cannot update.
A download should be always notified, even when the game is hidden. Otherwise users can't know for sure what Steam is doing, as happened to the OP.
Why would a HIDDEN game show up in downloads? Why would you be notified of it?
Hidden - out of sight - not visible - concealed. User error. Not a Steam issue.
Since Steam can still download updates for the game, it should notify what it is doing with the user network, and not stealthly download gigabytes of data.
This is either a bug, or bad design.
Anyway, i recognize now you as the one always jumping in to polemize with other users with trivial arguments, ignoring the topic of the thread. I should have blocked you long time ago. Time to do it now.
Other clients do not inform you about a download if you have hidden a game and did not uninstall it.
You seem to confuse you own bias and superficial arguments with others, after all you blamed Steam not user error in this case which was admitted by the OP.
Also surprising is the reference to "ignoring the topic of the thread" whilst posting in the Steam Client Beta forum about how to hack the ui etc. Hardly on topic.
