Does installing a game on ssd improve fps?
I feel like when I installed CS:GO on my ssd the framerate improved a little but it might just be placebo so I would like to know if anyone tried this before.

In most cases no. Although if the game has a dependency on streaming data from the disk, then a faster disk (like a SSD) could improve performance a little bit. In a game like CS, you're almost certainly imagining it though. Although I expect load times are much improved.

Even if there was an increase in FPS, it would not be very significant.

Having your game installed on a SSD will however improve loads times significantly.

It's well advised to install games that utilize loading local content on your SSD.

That depends entirely on the game and how/when it loads stuff in.. Most games generally load their assets into memory at the starrt of a map or area. Other, larger games, do so procedurally. In such games the amount of data loaded this way and the frequency of these load zones can affect FPS for a second or two..

In such cases an SSD would mitigate that.
