How do i find users playing a specific game?
This is super useful if the game itself is rarely played. :steamsad: All i can see is how many players are playing a particular game from steamcharts.com or steamdb.info. Is there any earthly way to find the user profiles playing a specific game so i can add them as friends?

go to the old members page of the game hub of the said game.

example: csgo.
https://steamcommunity.com/ogg/730

at the time of writing this: 2,533,913 Members

the above is a link that takes you to the members page and you see the players playing.

https://steamcommunity.com/games/CSGO/members

this probably is the best source too find the players but it also shows people playing other games.. so you will have to dig through the pages to find the ones currently playing "csgo" which would confirm they own it and plays it.

This is cool! I think the members playing games appear first in the list. But the problem is that the stats from steamcharts/steamdb of players currently playing that specific game do not match the hub members list.

For example: Let's take a rare game called Atomega (probably never heard of by many of you)
At the time of posting this comment, according to these sites, 5 people are playing this game
https://steamcharts.com/app/619880
https://steamdb.info/app/619880/graphs/

But if you go to the members list: https://steamcommunity.com/games/619880/members
and sift through members playing games, no one is playing Atomega!

Where are these 5 people at?

I think Steam doesn't show when there are few people playing.

I don't think you can. You can ask someone to add you as a friend in the game community hub you are referring though.

That's why multiplayer games have "lobbies" and stuff to find players.

Sry for the late response but I have been a bit busy today.

To answer the question about the missing 5 players.

Because you own the game doesn't mean you are a part of the community game hub for that game.

One has to join the group to be part of those stats.

This is why the numbers differs.

Hey, I can't seem to find this members page you mentioned? The link works but I can't access it for any other game.

there is a reason why i said "old" and this is "old" but it is even older now that has been about a little over 3 years ago this post was made.

you will have to access this by link then change the appid yourself

this https://steamcommunity.com/games/CSGO/members is also https://steamcommunity.com/games/<appid>/members

ogg has now been completely deprecated and can not be accessed.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
