Why does steam struggle with releasing games on time?
Every release seems to have some type of delay. Even when the game is "released", it takes forever (30+ minutes) to unpack the preloaded game. Steam has been in the game distribution business for a long time. Xbox games ALWAYS release on time and are playable immediately. Why can't Valve figure this out?

How can you release a stable game for thousands of PC configurations vs one Xbox configuration, on time?

Unlocking the game on time has nothing to do with thousands of PC configurations

Are you sure?

I'm only being respectful, because you activated your Steam account 10 days after I did. Otherwise, I would ignore you.

Decrypting and unpacking is not an issue on Steam's end.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Spend a little bit of time on google then have a mod lock this.

I realize that decrypting and unpacking is the PC.

My point is that Xbox has found a way to unlock the game instantly and on time. Why can't steam do the same?

Patience is a virtue. I'm waiting for Lust from Beyond: Scarlet which sould have been released yesterday. Will the delay kill me? No. It's not like there was a shortage of games to pass the time with...

Are you sure? Steam is not Xbox, and never will be, but you still hold them accountable as if Steam should be adhering to Xbox rules of release on day one.

I know that your problem is not widespread, because youtubers/review writers actively play and critique games before their release dates, through Steam. If they can download and play games that you can't play, because of "struggle of release", then who's problem is it? You or them?

If the game was unpacked before release modders and hackers could play it before the release due to the open pc nature, that's why u are allowed to preload it but its encrypted, on console it don't need so much protection as its a more closed platform.

Is not exactly a problem with steam u will find this on other stores that allow preload as well its more of that PCs need more protection.

Because Xbox's architecture isn't wide open for piracy, Content is unlocked once the game is released. Its decrypting speed is dependant upon your drive speed. WIth a good SSD, even a very large game should take a matter of minutes tops.

It's a different system with a different implementation. PC's are different than consoles and have different concerns. And your definition of "released on time" and Valve's definition might just be different.

And it's not just the user and valve; the publisher is involved too.

I have no idea how Steam's distribution process works, but if publishers release an encrypted "preload" and give you a 20GB update on release day, it's not going to get any faster...
