Last time I played that game I got my butt kicked by a pair of migs, but I took out one of them at least. Far too maneuverable for my 30 mm Cannon to hit reliably.
So yeah the a10 could definitely take one out. Just like it could punch a Blackhawk down. But the a10 is still a non-air to air combat vehicle.
It’s sometimes held up as the reason the a10 is fielded, besides as a dedicated medium armor/IFV solution. Kind of funny that it’s called the ‘flying tank.’
There’s a hind simulator that got a lot of praise out there.
People kind of like take on helicopters as well but I’ve never tried either.
I think most of the best helicopter games were made in the late 90s and they don’t get a lot of dedicated attention now.
I’ve heard that the conventional wisdom is that helicopters are just not meant to be attack vehicles, which may have something to do with the lack of games.
It's a shame that game went completely dark.
