How to remove horror games from news page?

I just login steam and saw a horror game with disgusting gory looks on the news page enough to give me nightmares especially browsing at night.

By news page, the thing that pops up after you logged onto Steam that shows discounted games.

Setting your preferences to exclude (in this case horror) games helps. The news feed related to them should not show, it just shows the low-end "click for details" icon, but doesn't show the picture.

Try the Steam settings interface>the one at the bottom. It will stop any news though. Maybe wait for a week till this horror one is gone.
Have you tried doing the YOUR DISCOVERY QUEUE, I find this is a good step to set some of my preferences hide games I'm not interested in as well.

I wasn't sure what tab it was but was able to figure it out just now but its the Update news is the one that does the pop ups with random horror recommendations.

I'll do what you guys say and probably comment again if I still see it.

In my case, it still shows up.

It removes the entire news page instead of filtering out that certain game. I'll just take this as an alternative solution.
