Steam Zensorship
Hello,
the game Heimat Defender: Rebellion should appear on Steam under the following URL: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1409620/Heimat_Defender_Rebellion/
But it cannot be found anymore. Why does Steam censor games?
Is there not enough freedom for a satirical 2D indie platformer?

The game was removed. Not sure what you're going on about freedom when that has zero to do with a business.

It's pretty simple: far-right extremism is throwned upon by everyone except nazis. The thing with nazis is, they're evil, their agenda is evil and the reason nobody except other nazis likes them, or their propaganda, is that nazis & their propaganda is evil.
What's so hard about NOT being racist?

There was nothing "satirical" about that game. The devs and the game have been openly endorsed by multiple neo nazi groups and had those endorsements proudly displayed on their store page.
And their forum attitude was basically " lulz stop being triggered snowflakes".

That falls pretty squarely under "troll game" and also "hate speech".
And Steam choose to not do business with those fine "gentlemen".
The game was removed for a good reason, there is no place for racism here.

Anyway you can download this buggy game from the homepage of the developer for free.

Edit:

Fun fact, iam still banned from the forum of this game, even when the game is removed and the moderator broke the rules over and over again.

And who decides what is nazi-propaganda that should be banned?
Must all criticism of society in games be left-wing? And otherwise we need to protect the gamer from the bad influence?

When the GDR-Communist build the wall through Germany to lock in their own citizens, they called it "Anti-Fascist Protection Rampart".
Did this mean West-Germany were racist Nazis?
No, a lie repeated over and over is not the truth.
It was a simple manipulation to discredit the political opponent.

Can gamers not decide for themselves if they want to play such a game?
Is censorship the only option?

So basically you support Nazism, Homophobia, anti-Semitic and anti-Gypsyist behavior?

That is the only thing that matters. There is no "freedom of speech" on a private platform.
What the owner allows goes, everything else gets canned.

A store reserves the right to decide what it does or does not allow to be sold. If a store determines that a certain game attracts the wrong kind of attention and/or crowd, they reserve the right to not provide that game a place in their store.

Just like consumers have rights, so do store owners.

A sentence you used can be used here too by changing two words: "Can stores not decide for themselves if they want to sell such a game?"

The "game" was created to spread hate and recruit young people for the extreme right.

Thank you Valve for throwing out trash like that, we do not need hateful stuff like that.

There's two possibilities here:
1. You really don't understand racist propaganda when you see it
2. You're trying to reduce the topic to technicalities to make a point for nazi propaganda
In both cases, the problem is not Steam, but you.

I live in Germany by the way. Germany may have not invented racism, but thanks to Austria, we kinda have the worldwide #1 authority on that, in the public opinion anyway. Trust me, nazi propaganda is easy to see as such. Easy to tell from asking questions, easy to tell from satire.

On the other hand, the current German nazi party built their whole campaign on the evil outsiders that come to our country and ruin it, but claim they aren't right, they're merely being painted right by the media. That from people using evil immigrants as their main topic. Well, their voters are dumb enough to fall for that obvious ruse. I guess, nazis exist in all IQ ranges, including that of moldy bread.

The game is defenitly less hateful than some of the reactions in this thread.

I know that valve is a private company. And i also know that they were pressured to censor the game by left-wing activists. But does this mean we should be silent? And support this procedure? Censorship is a decission.
