Why can’t I quote or report a post under friends activity?

Why can’t I quote or report a post under friends activity while using an iPhone or computer? It works under discussion but not under friends activity. Nothing happens when I tap on the down arrow to expand both the possibility to quote or report a post. I can see lots of people quoting each other. Am I being censored?

Do you mean quote as in like comment? For not being able to comment on post from friends activity, there could be certain reasons why:

1.) Some of the post by your friends such as screenshots, artwork and such can have a setting to disable comment but judging from your situation, I think this one is least-likely the reason.

2.) You may have been banned from using some of community features such as commenting. Far as my knowledge goes, the steam should both notify and display to you that you're in a status of being community ban and cannot use any of their features.

If it's neither of those 2 reasons above, you may try ask about the issue to Steam Support.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I mean comment by clicking on the down arrow in the persons post I like to comment. Ok then I must be permanently banned but without any warning or information regarding why I was banned?

If there's no warning or anything, I doubt that you are actually banned. In fact, I didn't realized until now but if you were banned at the first place, you wouldn't even be able to make a post here either. But it sure is strange that you can't comment on friend's post on both the mobile and PC.

Once again, I can't think of the solution other than try ask for the issue to Steam Support.

I've been using Steam literally since day 1 of release, I see myself spamming their overloaded website to create an account that morning around 9-11AM, and quoting has never worked in 15-17 years for me, if I press the Quote button it doesn't do anything, if I press the reply button it doesn't do anything. Steam has been bugged forever.

Apple just doesn't care to approve certain QOL updates Valve tries to do. It has always been this way for iOS users.
