The "new releases" tab was moved TWO SCREENS on 1920x1080. I already linked you screenshots to the older store, you can easily verify it.
The elements in between increased at least by 1/3 in size (some almost 1/2).
Do you understand that this "workaround" does NOT work in the long run? If you click Not Interested, Steam's algos adjust the displayed offerings to lower occurence of whatever the "Not Interested" game was tagged with.
So you end up eliminating similar recommendations in a genre that may be your favorite just to "eliminate" a layout issue.
Genius!
You know... I've been lurking here for a while, and every time people voice reasonable complaints I always see you in a "Steam is love, Steam is life" mode doing damage control on the forums. It's hard to take seriously somebody whose obstinance in refusing any factual evidence is akin to a religious fanatic.
Another bull statement. I already pointed out to you - the number of ACCOUNTS subscribed to Curators is a tiny faction of Steam's pool of accounts, even based solely on daily peak concurrent user number.
You have no effing idea how many of the "silent majority" dislike Curators, so at best you're making ♥♥♥♥ up with this claim.
And this is something I had already pointed out to you about 10 pages ago, so again "nah nah nah, what facts trololo"
This. This is why I hate corporate mouthpieces.
No it does not show what it needs to, it only shows what Valve think needs to be shown.
And I dont know what this social media stuff you refer to are, but on the old store page you got a description of the game when you moused over it.
Now it only shows you an image with the name of the game, the mouse over description from the old page is gone, which is not useful at all.
He already made it clear a few pages back why he is defending steam.
And I'm left with the distinct impression that he is using his status as a moderator to influence the feedback we are giving by claiming that we are are overreacting when we post negative feedback and our dislike for the new store page.
I can respect that he likes the new store ppage and dont want to see it changed.
What I will not tolerate is the impression he is giving that he is somehow using his status as a moderator to try and dismiss or downplay our dislike for the new page.
@Zefar
Before you come here and say that you are not doing what I just said.
This is not about what you say, but about the impression you are giving when you say it.
It may not be your intention, but it is what you are doing.
I ran into this with the previous storefront change, where he was loudly proclaiming how great and awesome all that bloat was (and to think I actually want THAT back now...).
Curators are good because 2million of the 120+ million Steam accounts that follow curators clearly support annoying everybody else with that. Extra advertisement is good because two more screens to scroll down is "no visible change"... Etc.
666461 / 50000 ~= 13
There are only 13 people in the whole world that hate curators?
Stop talking ♥♥♥♥ unless you have some facts to back up your claims like for example an exact count of people that hate curators.
Curators is useless. It was a fun thing when it was introduced but that was it. No practical use for curators what so ever, unless you really love the spam on the store page.
I'm comparing the numbers to the total amount of negative threads there was about Curators when it actually showed up.
There where about 3-4 massive threads but even with that you need to multiply it by thousand to ten thousand times to get up to just the top curator on Steam.
So the amount of people who use it compared to the amount of people who has complained about it here are so much larger that it makes you a vocal minority.
Far from it, the 30 FPS Curator is a good way to spot 30 FPS trash on the store page. Well now it's harder because it's hidden all the way to the bottom.
Again, there are over 120 million Steam accounts. By your own admission, there is about 2 million accounts actually using Curators. Let's be generous and round that up to 3 million. Let's even assume that all the Curators subscriptions are unique (and they certainly are not because one account can easily be subscribed to quite a number of individual "curators).
Do you know how much, percentage-wise, is that?
Just because most people have better things to do than pointlessly complain about a feature does NOT make it a hit with them. Again, going my anecdotal evidence among my peers, most would prefer to get rid of curators altogether.
Its obviously mostly the same accounts all following the curators, the majority don't give a damn one way or another..
Source... Common sense
I know I will probably get banned again for "Insults are still not tolerated" but here I go again.
What do you define as "using" curators? Sure people are following them but look at the amount of comments on those pages. Total Biscut, who is the largest curator gets only around 50-60 comments per thing and about 20 likes. A lot of people followed curators because it was new and we wanted to see what it was. Since we are not notified about it almost everyone forgot about it. Even then a lot of people either can't afford a game reccomended or don't like the game.
I don't know if your basing the amount of people thawt use it off of views per page (which I couldnt find by the way) or followers, but the amount of people that actually view the pages seems to be very low.
Also can someone tell me how I insulted Zefar 3 days ago? All I got was "Insults are still not tolerated" which doesnt really explain much and seems like, due to how it is written and how my last ban was because of a sarcastic post, it was meant for a different user.
Do you know how many people complain about the curators? Less than 1% of the amount of people using it. These are the people who want it removed. The rest of the people just do not care.
Insulting users will get you banned, if you do not insult users you will not get banned. It doesn't matter which it is from and I've already banned another guy who insulted people who complained about it in another thread.
Following a Curator is using it. They don't need to spam the chat box or press the like button. This is like claiming people are not using Steam if they don't use every single feature it offer.
The one Curator I care the most about is the 30 FPS one but I'm not in any need to post or like anything in the group. I'm still using it.
I'm basing it on the amount of followers. Then I compare that number to the amount of people who absolutely hate Curator system that posts here to get rid of it.
You become a minority in this case.
Calling someone a ♥♥♥♥ is an insult. Like how much more obvious can it get? You also said "I'm probably gonna get banned for this" and it should be enough for you to figure out what got you banned.
