How to fix tag system?
I really want to get proper game´s to come recommended to me not some stupid showelware and meme stuff. Also i play multiple type´s of game´s and they keep advertising either porn, because sexual tags from RPG game´s like pillars of eternity 2. "I have locked porn game´s locked" But valves system does not care verify game make´s do not abuse this system anyways. They keep showed my recommended. I recall one furry porn game had family friendly tag at front page. Also i know some people did not know this game was in steam because his system had hide this contect hid this normal game from him..

It´s not like they are only duches to do this. VR game´s wont add VR tag so i wont see these game´s and some bastards keep attaching some Horror tags etc to game to have visibility when its damn game about Russian brown bear in ww2....

I do like valves approach of giving game maker´s room to sell their product. I do not want any of these banned. But i´m asking guidence to fix these recommends or at least valve staff should start doing more informed tags. Here´s good sample limit cross over from porn game´s and normal game´s with adult themes. Do not allow sexual contect tag be with normal game´s and change game´s where you see adult stuff to more accurate tags like. For older audience´s or something better.

Like current steam is like shop where everything is mess you need to try locate game hat in the time from hardcore porn area.

At first people had total freedom to add whatever and when some started using meme tags that could be seen as making fun of some publishers the entire system was scrubbed "cleaned" and most non-approved user tags were banned.

But afterwards rather than tighten up the system and make some proper rules and guidlines and expand on the approved tags they just left it as is.

They COULD have bettered the system and expanded but now it's just another half baked system that they hoped would automate THEIR JOB for them.
Pretty much like the marketplace that's now slowly being chocked out by past bad events and partial irrelevance because of the point store.

New recommend was Jesus Strikes Back 2 where pretty mush could be breaking law because using other´s music like devilman crybabys nighthawk in first trailer.

Most of the tags people complain about are added by users, not developers.

Yes. It´s not working as intended. Anyway fix this from my end.

Report the tags you think are incorrect. Keep in mind that people are allowed different opinions on what tags fit a game.
Fixing? I didn't know the system was broken. Oh - I see. You complain because it doesn't do what you want? Well... everything's fine. No need to fix anything.

Have been doing that. But issue is more complex than saying report false info. If i was to exclude any tag from my gaming recommends most of game´s that i do like would be nuked. Like previously said if i excluded sexual content i will not see pathfinder kingmaker and potentially new instantlement from recommends. When i can exclude tags they wont help because this tag is not added on this product when it clearly needs it. Like VR is major thing they don´t mark on VR game. Thirdly there is clearly people who abuse this system for own gains. Like whole lets meme about something and add all tags to this game so people need fix our mess. Do respect their option. But... i cannot see reason why family friendly is on furrys ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ each other game in steam. I reported this but still there. I guess my meaning family friendly is wrong when it come´s furry porn. Perhaps need to start playing with my family these game´s.

I´m personally asking from my own end have tools to filter out junk. Give me ability ignore devs. Let me add automatic ignore this feature. Like add 2 markers to each game what has VR support and VR REQUIREMENTS to play. Because i do not own VR and wont get this system so why i cannot exclude them.

Also most of the time even tag is added. It´s not accurate because people are other option about product. But because tag is so broad like adventure and sexual content. To this i just wish there was more of way limit adult game´s from porn game´s. Personally same way as Adult games and mature game´s in steam are. But it´s not working properly. But in tags. Like Adults game to porn tag´s also sexual contect to something like cyberpunk.

But again These are my options of these things. Perhaps i´m to odd thinking Family friendly does not belong to imagery of furry´s ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ each other on mini games.

You can ignore devs: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1972247912

Tags mostly get removed when there have been X number of reports, I believe. Many people don't take the action to actually report tags, they merely complain (not referring to you, mate).

In the preferences, https://store.steampowered.com/account/preferences/, I have unchecked VR content and I must say that I don't come across it.

Keep in mind that I don't really search Steam for games. I use genre specific curators for discoverability (not the reviews), and the Steam labs Interactive Recommender and Deep dive, More like this on games I own/have wishlisted, dev/publisher pages for the ones I have many games of and of course Steam friends. Very occassionally I do a tag search on the ones that never get abused (Card games, Board games, for example).

The only way to actually get the tag system in order would be to get a decent sized group of people together to form a group with the purpose of correcting tags by reporting false tags, and making the proper tags where they belong.

I actually thought about doing this, but the problem would be finding people willing to put in some work.

And yes, there are tons of improper tags located on Steam games. This can be problematic when you want ignore certain types of tags, since games that do not actually fall under that tag will still have it and get ignored. And games that should have that tag do not.

Have to say there are truly wonderful people who is willing to do this and your included this. But personally it feels like even if decent group started to do this. There are trolls who will butcher that job. It´s like when you need to start cleaning smokers mess from schoolyard and elderly houses when you don´t smoke and those who did ran away that day. Even more in steams case lot of cases those trolls and false tags are intentionally placed there by nepotism with devs. That´s why i have to say steam should him self invest some money to make people inside steam to help with this and reward support they get. Like moderators to tags and correcting false info.
