Steam argentina region change

Is the steam region change being patched? People tried to get cheap games using argentina region. Some people say its patched and some says not. Also does buying argentina steam wallet card can change your region?

Ive used 10+ vpns , It keep saying errors. Ive tried loging out several times and login in back with vpn still doesnt change.

Did they though?` This is not new, last year around the same time region changing was disabled for around a month and then just came back.
Never a comment by Valve what that was about.
I remember the threads from that time.

And from descriptions it seems to be the same error message then as at this time.
And its not just Argentina, NO region switch works.
On Reddit there are users who tried to switch to UK or Germany and it also does not work.
So i honestly doubt this was a intentional thing. If its not "fixed" suddenly in the next few weeks i may entertain the possibilty that Steam really did it deliberately.

It is caused by the steam summer sale. We have to wait something around 72h after the end. It means that it is going to start working today at 1pm ET.

That time also numerous of people said that valve fixed it and VPN is not available any more, but as you could see not really

Yep, you are right all we can do is wait. If it does not fix in a few days it will mean that they changed it.

I certainly hope they fixed it. Americans should pay American prices. Germans should pay German prices. Argentinians should pay Argentinian prices. The fact that people are basically one half a step above pirating by doing this is such BS.

Except it doesnt always work, for example my country is poor but we get 60$ treatment since we are in europe union no one in their right minds have money to buy games.

That is not an official source, that is 1 experience from a previous date. We know Valve likes changing things without saying anything. Biggest example is the limit on inviting friends and the cooldown associated with it.

Good day, I am the owner of some websites, a bunch of trading accounts, and a bot network for profiting off of gambling sites. Perhaps I have some other bot networks, can't give a definitive answer on that. I monitor these things quite often and from the past couple of years I can tell you steam does this often, and roughly at the same time. Right after a major sale they lock region changing. Why? No clue. One would expect that they would do it a month or so PRIOR to a sale to avoid... people from profiting off the sales, but no, it seems the other way around. Their motive behind it is unknown. I don't really know how much longer you would need to wait (because I have better things to do than count days).
