This info should be available on your point summary page. Simply take a look and find out the credits and debits. https://store.steampowered.com/pointssummary/
I've already looked at that quite a bit and the numbers are still adding up to where there is a discrepancy. As with the refunds I would have had a negative point balance (if they had not removed the items) however because I chose to have it refunded via Paypal the items were removed from my account and there for there are points missing from my account.
Prior to the refunds I had a 61 point balance, afterwards I now have a 37 point balance. Care to tell me how that works out? Lol
Point in case, there are points missing from my account.
Following numbers are to show my point:
-2,953 (the total points that were earned from the purchases I refunded) + 3,900 (the points that the items that were taken from my account were worth) + 61 (the balance I had for my account prior to the refunds) = 1,008
This isn't taking into account a purchase I made after the refunds were all approved which totaled to 1,353 points. So I am currently missing 2,361 points from my account balance.
Ya it sounds like the refund process mixed with the steam platform and how it handles points is not working properly. Plus you can't even choose what items you get to remove and the system does it automatically. There's now way to set a priority of which items you care less about vs which ones you want to keep. So the user has no control over anything with this process, it's entirely left up to a algorithm to decide it all and even then it's showing clearly that there is serious flaws with how it's working.
Entirely ignores all of the evidence, screenshots and calculations I did to prove that there is a discrepancy in my current point balance.
They didn't even acknowledge anything I provided. It was all ignored.
Honestly I bet the agent just read the title of the ticket, groaned and then grabbed the block of text they are paid to give and then clicked send. Not even bothering to read what I sent.
I am literally missing 1,353 from buying a game. This is after all of the refunds went through and my point balance was finalized. I was ripped off by their own system and it's frustrating that Steam Support is this borderline useless. :/
I don't know if it's against the board rules to post it so I won't be, but the big man Gabe has a email that people have been known to email to and have gotten further then with Steam support. I did so in the past and actually got a refund (due to the game being actually broken due to it being a older game) and depending on how Steam support replies, I may do so again with this whole point issue.
You should be able to find it online, as it's been posted online quite a few times. Just remember to be respectful and write up a draft first and either have someone you know (a parent or family friend) look it over or sit on it, come back to it later and reread it. Remember that you are wanting something from them and you have to make it sound like they are not obligated to give it to you but that they will want to willingly give it to you.
That's what I did last time I wrote to the big man and I got progress.
It's all good. We gamers gotta help look out for one another. Or in other words paying it forward. :)
Update from Steam Support:
They gave me another Non-answer. It was a different agent and while they did read less like a bot (or a copy and paste reply) they still are trying to dodge around the missing points from my account.
However in the process of looking over things, I've noticed that a $41.70 purchase from back in April has been entirely ignored by their point calculating system. As this amount is after the Lunar Sale (Jan 28th) and Steam apparently released a bug fix that started taking into account purchase after that sale. However a large purchase was entirely ignored by their own system even though it's after that date, so I am hoping someone at Steam support adds this purchase to affect my point balance as it's pretty frustrating to be given copy and paste replies while someone over there also screwed this up too.
I will say this: Steam Support supported me in finding a screw-up in their own system. Hahaha
Will post another reply when I hear back about this. Let's hope they don't give a excuse for this too, or a non-answer.
