That is not how it works at all.
You are Refunded *exactly* the amount of money you paid. No more. No less.

If you bought on sale, you get the sale price back.. even if you wait until the game is on full price to ask for the refund. Valve knows when you bought and item and how much you paid.. you can't "trick them" into giving you a Refund for more than you actually paid.

I think they back too. I mean, I paid for Metro 2033 redux but I refunded bcz I didn't notice I have that game in epic games and my background -which I trade with the points I got from my purchased- was refunded too. You can see which items will refunded at the moment you ask for the refund, you could see it in more details.

Whatever amount of the coupon that was applied toward the refund game(s) you lose unfortunately, even if you purchased enough in total without the refunded game to still qualify for the coupon, which is bunk imo. That's how it works though.
