Summer sale lagfest
Why is it every year they do this summer sale and the store page becomes unusable? How many more years until they fix it or just stop doing it?

It's annoying. I can't even buy a single game.

Lag = The Billion people that log on at 1 PM EST... Nothing they can really do, no server on the planet could handle that much load at one time. It settles down after a few hours.

Nothing to fix. Nobody is going to put extra servers for a few hours a year. Or are you going to pay for that, OP?

Let the dust settle and when NOT everyone it on the store anymore, it'll be normal again.

Sony never has this issue, EGS works fine every time, it's really only Gaben and Co dropping the ball every year lol

EGS worked just spectacularly when GTA V went free right?

EGS was down when GTA was free.

But it has way less users buying stuff from their sales so it is way easier to handle

Neither has the traffic Steam has on the first day of their sale, though.

Well, except for when Epic gave GTA 5 away. And that went so well, eh.

Right?

Wait, so Valve is actually giving away one of the best and one of the most popular games in the world, during this here Summer Sale?
Can you give me the link to it, I guess I missed it on the lagging store!

They've only had 10 summer sales, no way they could have anticipated this spike in traffic and prepared for it.
