about this 'free trial'
so you already know that now there are many games on steam that can be played for free for a limited time, I want to ask if if I play a free trial and decide to buy the game, are my progress and playtime are still saved or it would be reset?

It may or may not store your progress in the Steam Cloud. You'll have to check for each game.

Your playtime is stored though. Which also means that if you play 2 hours in the demo, then buy it you will exceed the 2 hour refund window.

You can check to see if the cloud is enabled by right clicking the game in your library and clicking properties and seeing if it shows Steam Cloud under the updates section.

The over 2 hours thing means that you are much less likely to get a refund, but you still can if you provide a good enough reason. :rubiwink:

I think it's a worthwhile purchase, and the sale is the best it's ever been at 66% off! :itsboshytime:
