Can't confirm anything myself, but that's how it is for CnC remaster at least.
INTERNET CONNECTION; EA ACCOUNT; STEAM ACCOUNT; ACCEPTANCE OF EA USER AGREEMENT (terms.ea.com) & ORIGIN END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT (ea.com/legal); AND DOWNLOAD & INSTALLATION OF THE ORIGIN CLIENT SOFTWARE (origin.com/download) REQUIRED TO PLAY. etc"
However, the presence of Origin isn't too bad because once you link your account the first time, you never have to launch or login to the platform again. All that happens when you start the game from Steam is that a authentication window pops up for a split second and then the game launches. You don't need to sign in, visit the Origin store or launch via its library.
You wont even notice it running unless you check your task manager when in-game and it will close upon exit. I hate Origin as a standalone but through Steam it's not intrusive at all.
It says that Origin is required and that you need an EA account.
Nothing new actually
cnc remaster doesnt show anything on the store page saying you need an origin account (or any third party account), it only shows that you have to accept a third party EULA.
Thats a specialty of origin. Work in background to roll up ur engine.
Anyway ... things did not changed. Second client like Origin is one of the biggest brakepad of EA. They know exactly why they offer their Games now on Steam, cause its a big Deal there are tons of users who avoid origin but the problem remains the same. Game just with origin ... ok thanks ... good bye. For me i wouldnt buy any title.
You don't have to make everything about sex and identity....its a game...leave that subversive crap in the real world.
