It is hosted by Steam. Steam's services are available for everyone to view, period. They must comply with regulations - and those regulations also include you following Steam's terms of service, which DO specify that you're not to post offensive things anywhere on their system.
"But this game says x thing! That game has boobies! Why can't I post those!!"
Because games are not your public profile on a public site. The games are owned wholly by their creators, and their contents are regulated in a different way.
Stop putting stuff on your profile that doesn't need to be there.
