Does Steam use "GameInput Redistributable?"
Windows 10 Update is blocking the "Feature Update to Windows 10, version 2004" on two of my machines. It points to a generic "blocking" page which, amongst other things, lists "GameInput Redistributable" as a blocker. Checking Reliability Monitor, I see notices that "GameInput Redistributable" is getting successfully reconfigured upon every boot and that it's a Microsoft product. I've found posts claiming the Xbox stuff in Windows 10 uses it and I've uninstalled what I can of that along with the Redistributable. Windows promptly re-installs the Redistributable. Great.

Does anyone know if Steam uses the "GameInput Redistributable?" That's the only other gaming stuff on these computers.

I've checked that my game controllers are uninstalled and stopped Steam from autostarting, but GameInput Redistributable re-installs itself anyway. So, even if Steam is using it, there's something further up the chain that needs it. I can't imagine it's just generic Microsoft Windows 10 stuff since the internet would be swamped about this. But, I can't find any way to track down what's needing this thing.

It's part of Gaming Services, which is MS not Steam, and neither of them were on my PC UNTIL I installed State of Decay 2 Juggernaut Edition (MS Store version) ,so maybe you have a game from the MS Store or an Xbox game that's also on PC that needs it.
My SoD2 got corrupted because I kept turning Gaming Input and Gaming Services off when they restarted and Undead Labs support had me uninstall/reinstall Gaming Services through Powershell to fix my game

Still an issue today.
Yes, even after uninstalling the ms store games, this service lingers. And this cannot be uninstalled normally:

powershell to the rescue!
