Steam account: link with Facebook not working ("App not set up")

Just noticed that the "Link with Facebook" feature under Edit Profile isn't working for me anymore.

Click on button, loads Facebook with this error message (screenshot in link at bottom):

Error

App not set up: This app is still in development mode, and you don't have access to it. Switch to a registered test user or ask an app admin for permissions.

Has been linked for years now, and was still working a few days ago when I checked there.

Anyone else having the same issue?


No knowledge of Facebook development, but if others can duplicate, looks like Steam has tweaked something and not flipped the switch approving the Steam/Facebook application for public, judging by this Stack Overflow thread[stackoverflow.com].

Not sure why you're replying to an outdated thread. The Facebook link was removed and no longer works.

It's because the button is still there on the Steamworks panel.

Craving for that extra unnecessary order? No, that's not how moderation works. One closes up a thread when it's irrelevant or out of control. This is neither since the issue remains (which is why I ended up here, it's the first result on Google).

Don't over control things you don't need to. A good rule for life and of course, forums.
