Thank you for your help. I tried it with stardew and it opened up. I'll go through my licences and reacquire all the purchases.
so how has this happened if you didnt input your details into another website..
are you saying someone has just randomly guested your details....
I could have a state of the art burglar system on my house will bullet proof windows and a solid lock but if I give my front door keys to the local thief then the system is more than useless. Same applies to Steam Guard.
And instantly I knew something was up. He messaged me again and I said no, I wasn't because I viewed my profile. My name had been changed to a bunch of numbers, my profile picture was gone, and my profile was empty. I tried changing my name and a few seconds later it would change back. He messaged me again with a screenshot of his friends list, with the same number at the top of his friends list. But it isn't my account, it's a different one that has a trade ban on it with the same name.
He asks me if there is someone I trust to trade to, which is when I reported both profiles and immediately changed my password and email, ensured I had my account security measures in place and enabled.
Definitely a scam attempt, and an attempt to get me to authorize a trade on my steam app. I didn't fall for it, but there was damage done.
If you never logged in outside the client, your computer has a keylogger or someone was holding your phone.
At least they had to gain 3 parts of a login or recover sequence.
^^^This, I really am glad it wasn't more problematic.
