Steam browser crashing constantly
Well, as the title says, my steam browser keeps crashing constantly (the browser screen turns black and I can not do anything on it unless I open another tab). And if I decide to open a video on youtube using the browser, it gets even worse: all the tabs turn black, and it won't do anything, even if I open another tab, close the browser and open it again, close and restart the game and the browser; the browser will stay black. I have to forcefully shut down steam in the task manager (because somehow it makes steam glitch and it won't let me close it normally) and then open it again to continue using the browser. Anyone else experiencing a similar isssue after the last update?

I saw the older post form last year... this is happening to me for quito some long time, after any of the many Steam updates... It looks like a system RAM issue (even if I have more than enough RAM available, conidering at the actual moment I am using 44% total system RAM -16GB- and 1GB out of 4GB of VRAM...) when web browsing youtube or any long tutorial or guide with photos or videos... But truly, even Steam only text pages... Sometims all, including friends page are black and do not recover after being like that; other times it goes to black, the actual page and after closing it, searching again, it works (for a time until it fails again); other times Steam overlay completely disappears and is not even showing up, no black, nothing. A 4th kind is when even if you close the pages, the friendds page stays in black or not black but it is not possible to move it nor to close it.

So... Is it really nobody else seeing this?
i used to have similar problems to this... but it was my video card drivers...

once i updated to the latest drivers it was all fixed... no youtube problems
or black screens

that was over a year ago...

Go into Steam > SETTINGS > LIBRARY.

Read what you find there, and click or unclick the obvious fields, restart Steam.

Hello,

those are library options, nothing to do with IN-GAME Steam overlay going to black. There it says to decrease traffic data bandwidth used and info showed on screen for the library... It says to reduce the info downloaded, to do not show game icons, not loading community content fpor the games and low resources mode... Nothing related to the issue. Nevertheless, I tried and with time, it happens the same... This is happening IN-GAME.

Apparently it is your problem which should be posted in the Help and Tips sub-forum.

Now a software problem is "my"/user" problem. Well, I get how far the leftwing communist braindiggers have reached.
