Then there are older games I had on the playstation such as Silent Hill 1, Resident Evil 3 and Alone in the Dark : new nightmare which almost made me pee in my pants. Metal Gear Solid was scary too for me when I was a kid. I don't know why, but the place before you fight psycho mantis really creeped the ♥♥♥♥ outta me. Especially the music. I had nightmares about that one. And the game's atmosphere in general was really scary for me when I was a kid, even though it is not a horror game.
There was also a Doom clone back in the day which I found scary as well, but I was like 5 years old at that time. In a level there was this massive gorilla who shot arrows at me and for some reason I was scared. If anyone knows that game I would be really thankful.
Interesting, my first exposure to Doom 3 was when I was in high school and my first thoughts were "What the ♥♥♥♥, this is Doom 3?"
Needless to say I hate games that either scare or jumpscare me, so Doom 3 was never on my favourite games list, in fact for me I consider Doon 3 the worst Doom game ever, because it failed where it should have suceeded, and introduced unimportant things such as jumpscares and story.
I mean, I know they're there. I am not a skittish person in real life with actual things like spiders or whatever. But those things just THERE THEY ARE and I jump, squeal, and laugh like an idiot at myself for it.
That one when you go down the ladder.
WHY.
you can hear me scream half a mile away lol.
