22 mb/s connection but downloading @10KB/s??

Every time I try to download something with the steam client my download speeds start off high and tank to 10KB/s or disconnect entirely. I check my connection speeds and they are in the 20+ Mb/s range. Does anyone know of a fix for this or having similar issues? I should mention it usually happens in the last 10MB or so when downloading large updates and anything under 100MB it happens the entire download.

Depends on your region. Valve is too greedy to get adequate servers (their last "upgrade" was in 2016) worldwide for all people. Valve's standpoint is that their servers only get overloaded during events and sales, that's a limited time per year, so it's not worth getting more servers because that would cost them money - while they make billions of dollars.

Yep I have gigabyte internet and only download at maybe 90mb a sec. Welcome to Steam.
