How can I schedule every steam updates into a specific time period ?
Hi,

Steam is updating 'steam client webhelper / bootstrapper' automatically and utilize more bandwidth(more than 5GB) suddenly while I'm working on the day time.

I know it should update and we need those updates to run the game properly, but I just need to know, Is there anyway that we can schedule those updates to a specific time period ?

simply we have a peak and off peak internet bandwidth plans and off peak data doesn't utilized, since its 12AM - 8AM.

So I just need to force those every updates which related to steam to be downloaded at every night (12AM-8AM) It would be great if anyone can help with this ?

How can I schedule every steam updates into night ?

Settings -> Downloads -> Only Auto-Update Games Between X and Y

Hi Daggoth,

Thanks for the quick reply,

but that option is only for game updates, isn't it ? or is it applicable for everything like steam client webhelper / steam client bootstrapper ??

Bootstrapper/webhelper is steam itself. It'll use data when you switch tabs and it loads up content (store pages, community activity, etc). How heavily you use steam will affect how much data it uses, but it stops almost entirely if you're not actively using it (there'll be a small trickle every now and then for update checks and the like).

You can reduce it somewhat by Settings -> Library -> and choosing the low bandwidth options which will reduce some of the auto-loading stuff.
The only way to stop it completely is to choose the last option on the main Steam menu in the very top left of the client - Exit. That'll reduce all data usage to zero.
