Assassin's Creed Odyssey Mouse Lag/Stutter
So.....Where do I even start? I bought this game about roughly two weeks ago on Ubisoft. After playing for roughly 1 to 2 and or leaving my pc on that long without playing it, then begin playing. I have experience horribly lag/stutter follow by a horribly audio glitch. Only, and I mean only when I use the mouse. Controller, everything is smooth as butter.....Mouse choppy as hell. The only way to temporally fix it is by restarting my pc after which happens again after 1 to 2 hours. I have read probably 20+ Discussion with this problem in ACO: Origins and Odyssey. Tried every solution and still attempting to solve this. This problem got so bad that even my pc started to inherit this problem, to which I uninstall all the drivers for mouse, keyboard, and razer software, because keyboard and mouse are razer brand. This solution fixed my pc while am not playing ACO: Odyssey which in terms brought my computer back to normal. All of my other games run fine without this problem. Thought it was a memory leak, then extended the page-file size, disable full-screen, turn the game to boarder-less, and Ect. Before that I did turn most of my settings to high or very high and FPS stay between 60 to 110.....then move the mouse and holy crap the FPS drops 2 to 3 to 4 to 5. I can run, interact, and ride my mount with fine an stably FPS, but move that mouse and the FPS drops. My system requirement are CPU i7-9000KF, GPU Geforce RTX 2060, 2 x8gb Ram, 64bit windows 10, mobo Z390 A-pro. This is my first pc and I built it. Please help me, sorry about not organizing this long paragraph. Just tired, very tired of trying everything. The whole system is up to date. I really do not want to play with controller, because I was a xbox player, but if I have to, than I will. Thank you all for those who respond.

The audio glitch happens right before the game crashes for me, consistently.

I haven't had any issue with the mouse, however, so that's likely a conflict on your end.

The game does crash and stutter, seemingly at random. At one point, it was hogging up a whopping 6.6 GIGS of memory - and didn't crash, but boy howdy it was trying.

Do you have Vsync on? turn it off, it's garbage anyway and often conflicts with games. Reduce the settings in the game down - particularly fire particles (I can't remember which setting that might be) and water detail - mine seems to have issues rendering those, but... equally well it screws up while I'm just *crouching in the underbrush*.

Unfortunately I don't have a solution for you, but just to know that you aren't alone - though the problem with the mouse isn't really one I'm familiar with. I'd suggest also heading over to the ACOD section and looking around there if there's others with that specific issue.

I have had to stop the game's exe in task manager, wait for the crash reporter to come up, click that and send a report, and then ALSO cancel the reporter exe - that will allow the game to fully shut down, for whatever reason that system just... is baffling.

Okay. I did check Vsync and its off. Well all I know is that mouse problem is back when I use my computer normal like watching a video or browsing the web. I move my mouse and my whole computer lags/stutter following a audio glitch, so. This sucks. I have only had my pc for 4 months and now this problem. I am going to bed, and will attempt to fix it in the morning. This must not be just the game, but rather software not working.

So I got on and did some research on my other problem with my mouse stuttering and stuff without being in a game. I disable some start up apps and deleted things I no longer need including installer programs.......So I just longed onto ACO: Odyssey even after my computer has been on for 2 1/2 hours, and surprisingly the game is running smooth even with me moving the mouse. I am going to play for severely more hours and see if it stays on. I disable Microsoft Teams and Duet Display which have a high impact on my computer when I boot it up. Deleted a game that I do not play anymore and anything in general that I do not need. As for now, I think my solution to this problem was disabling Start up programs that are high or do not even need to start up.

Alright, I found my solution. Removing apps that start up, especially the ones with high on Start up impact. To get there, you need to open up task manager the scroll over to start up. There, you can disable certain start up apps. Also ending apps that put a strain on the system. Just play with certain apps and see what is affecting your game. Now I will continue where I left off from the previous paragraph. After playing for 2 hours, I quit and had my pc run for an hour without any applications, apps, or games. Then I logged back into ACO: Odyssey and had zero problems. Played for about 30 mins, then logged off. My FPS wast stable between 50 to 100 and only dropped several time in the villages and cities/towns.
