hello, im trying to sell some skins (still exploring) but im coming in an issue... tax information, can someone tell what is this? im not from the U.S and im from EU can someone guide me how to do this thing?

Payments made to you may be subject to US tax withholdings per US tax reporting regulations. Developers may be eligible for a reduced or exempt rate of US tax withholding on units sold to US customers if your country of permanent residence has an income tax treaty with the US. At the end of the interview, you will be notified of the US withholding tax rate, if any, that may apply to you.

There is no tax information on file for your organization. You will need to go through the tax information forms before you can proceed toward releasing your product on Steam.

form w9 is for americans who need to pay usa taxes
form w8 is for non americans who can be exempt from the taxes because they generally pay their own taxes.

if you are selling something in the usa then it needs to be done otherwise they cant legally sell it since the actual seller (steam, game developer, whoever) dont know where the taxes should go. this leaves them in a tricky spot. so they typically require this information beforehand.

its pretty routine. the w8 is definitely the form for you if you want to sell items that may or may not be sold in america and that may or may not be taxable there due to your own individual tax situation.

in addition, if i were you id suggest maybe talking to someone in your own country who can also explain your own tax laws to you in regards to this.

please help

You need to elaborate. Your saying your trying to sell skins but your posting the policy for selling a game.

If selling skins you earned in game in the market there is no tax information required.

So what exactly are you trying to sell

i create a skin and to make it published i had to fill up address info, bank info and some how tax info. but i manage to do that because im not from the US
