Is 35MB the new Download speed?
SO I have tried every west coast server, and the best I get is 35 mb download. Is this the new norm? I remember getting well over 200 before. I could uninstall and reinstall games as I wish as I could download as fast as it would take to install. Now it takes almost a full day for one game.

Probably due to traffic volume. There are students doing courses for grade school up to college, people doing their work online, and they get priority over gamers.

It's a small price to pay for dealing with a massive pandemic. At least we can download at all.

Finite bandwidth and maybe it's being utilized a bit differently than it was a few weeks ago. Otherwise call your ISP.

Is anyone getting better speeds? What server? Should I try even more servers?

Not my ISP. I can do speed tests and get my normal 400.

Windows is downloading at 250 and Nvidia was at around 350-400. Seems so far this is strictly a steam issue.

Great, now steam is only going at 3.4mb.....

You might want to relax, there's probably not much you can do about it as it's almost certainly nothing you can control and jumping through hoops probably isn't going to do anything.

You're complaining you're only getting 35mb??

I barely scrape 25...
BoneCracker Mar 24, 2020 @ 10:05am
wait.. anything higher than 10 is the norm??
Farmor tulle Mar 24, 2020 @ 2:12pm
Cool, the highest i get it 8, which server is good close to denmark

Are you talking about 35MB per sec? and complaining? My fastest download speed here was 850KB per sec and It barely takes a full 24H for me to finish downloads.

Ouch. But yeah, it's silly he's complaining about that.
Especially when he claims it takes him over a day to download anything at that speed.

That's just a flat out lie.

Even downloading CSGO doesn't take me 12 hours with that speed. x35 that speed and it's a WTF speed.

Silly? I used to get 100-200 per game. Now I get 3-30.

I'm running fast as you just about even despite Steam saying that I'm downloading 35MB.

You're basically upset Steam isn't actually registering.

Well, you can tell steam it's lying then, cause it took 8 or so hours for an 85g game to download.
It started at 35, then down to 3, then stop for a while, and start over at 35 and slow down again till it would stop once again.

That sounds like your internet is being throttled, which has nothing to do with Steam. I suggest talking to your ISP.
Or someone else who knows how it works more than random people here. :P

I'm sorry, I can't help you. But it does not sound like something that Steam is to blame for.
Nope, it's 100% steam issue. Nothing else does it.

It can be your disk issue too. Check your hardware.
