I appreciate the help. I was definitely clicking the right item and couldn't get it to finalize the purchase. Luckily this link works though. Either way I shouldn't have to rely on the community to do Steam's job. Steam's launcher doesn't do half of it's functions optimally and as a result I default to buying my games elsewhere when available. I can't even remember a time Steam just took my money when I clicked purchase honestly.. Even free games are a hassle cause I've gotta have a support ticket to get them on my computer. An issue I don't and have never had with Origin, Ubi, Epic, Battlenet etc..
You likely clicked the wrong item. Regarding a hassle with free games, or any for that matter, I've yet to run into. If it's free, i install, if not i purchase then install, no need for support to hold my hand through it.
When you have hundreds of reports of people with Steam accounts dating back to 2005 and they're clicking "Install the demo and play now! Just click right here! It's FREE" and that leads you to a page that says "Purchase and play the demo right now! Just click purchase below!" That's not the fault of the consumer in any way shape or form. Btw that same thing I was clicking that said PLAY THE DEMO NOW JUST CLICK RIGHT HERE! now says PLAY THE DEMO and works fine so it's very highly doubtful I was clicking the wrong thing. Though the issue that prevents people from simply purchasing items quickly maybe not be solely Steams fault it's definitely upon one of their shoulders at the least because like I said.. It's an issue I've only ever had with Steam. So in light of this issue and the other millions of Google threads that say "I can't purchase! or My purchases won't finalize/complete" How about 1 thing to click that does 1 thing efficiently? Almost sounds.. Intelligent and streamlined. If RE launched on Epic or anywhere else I'd have been done in 2 clicks with absolutely no confusion or hassle whatsoever.
Again, you likely clicked the wrong item.
