VR game question
I have a Windows Mixed Reality VR set. I recently purchased the game "Narcosis" not even noticing that it only supported Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. I was able to run this game with my WMR set though, without a problem. I assumed that the headsets that VR games had listed didn't mean anything, so I bought "The Town of Light" seeing as it is another VR game, with Oculus being the only headset supported. I thought that since Narcosis seemed to work just fine with my WMR headset, that this one would too. I can't seem to launch it with my headset, though. It also doesn't show up under the "VR" category of my library.

Am I doing something wrong? Can I still play The Town of Light with my WMR headset?
If not, why am I able to play Narcosis with my WMR headset, even when it isn't listed?
Also, how am I supposed to know in the future whether or not my WMR set will work with the games I buy? Since Narcosis seemed to work with it, and The Town of Light doesn't. How will I know?

Some games are just compatible without any support, like in the case of Narcosis.

I googled whether The Town of Light would work, on reddit someone said it worked with "Revive" I don't know what that is.

It's a hit or miss when buying games to see if it'll work, best to google and/or check steam forums before buying. But if you can't find anything you can buy it and request a refund if it doesn't work. If you request too many refunds too close together they will bar you from refunds, don't worry too much you'll receive two warnings before the ban.

You could ask here, they prob. knows more? Or ask in each game forum?

Really? I can't seem to get the Town of Light to work with my WMR set. Ever since, I've always googled to see if other people have tried using WMR with the game.

Anything that ONLY supports Oculus isn’t cross-compatible. Almost anything with vive/index support will work on WMR and Oculus.

Facebook refuses to support other headsets, and a few games use the Oculus libraries instead of steam for VR. You’ll find Dirt Rally pulls the same crap. Refund the game and make sure to write in specifically that their lack of direct support for more than one headset is the reason you returned it.

The Town of Light works great with my Reverb and gamepad. You need to press Ctrl-L once in the game to engage VR.

Over a year later and I've finally got an answer. Thank you.
