Why is there no profile "Video" showcase?

We have profile showcases for artwork, custom info box, workshop, groups and so on, but why is there no video? I'd like to put up one of my covers or something in a featured video showcase, but there seems like there isn't an option.

Why hasn't STEAM added this ever?

YouTube slyly kinda does this to you too if your description has a bunch of links that take users to other websites - your video gets removed from recommend lists.

But I mean, I could have a custom info box filled of 3000 words worth of off-site links, a guide that is nothing but a video embedded in it, a workshop item with links to patreon or donations or so on. I get what you mean, but in context, it's silly for STEAM to decide that because of that reason.

Also, I didn't know YouTube did that, that's interesting, I was unaware!

Could be your current live game.
Could be part of a game that you recorded and like to show off.
Not on Youtube but on steam. like Steam is a media library, also has that Streaming buried away somewhere.

Hey there samwel i know its an old question but i agree steam really needs to add such feature but im not sure if you are aware of it but you can sort of bypass it by making a game review and then add a youtube link. The link wont show up as a video amongst the reviews but if you post that review as a showcase on your profile page it will show up as a video and it will not link to youtube but be watchable there as well. You can see it on my profile if this solution has any interetest to you.

There might be some potential issues but in those reviews ive done it the videos are sort of related to said games.

Really like what should it matter to you if people has music videos or game walkthroughs on their profile as showcases ? the only clown here is you for wasting yours and other peoples time on something that has no interest to you.

Do note that if the video is completely irrelevant to the game review itself, your review might get flagged by users and your review might get banned.

No problem and yeah Ceezus Crisp might have a point there but thinking about it maybe you can just set the review to either private or friends only and then post it as a showcase maybe you can bypass it that way as well. Another way could possibly be that you make a private review in a game that gets a huge ammount of reviews and then after lets say a month make it public if beforementioned didnt work then i guess it wont show up in the reviews and risking as much to be flagged unless people does it on your profile page. Anyways if you are a bit creative with the game and video it should be doable as mine havent yet been removed but both of them are also to some extent related to the games i reviewed.

"short-sighted" we already have screenshot that still.. people usually do something bad like porn pic which sometimes some people complain why their naked 3d nor 2d showcase getting deleted or content warning because of those adult content... diffrend with VIDEOS which people can uploap anything on youtube or other video web.

We already see valve stop those "hate-speech" from review bombing to protect the game and steam. imagine you are the one who have steam and your consumer do whatever they like and its effect the developer when people can free doing hate speech lot of developer would not going to steam they will just moved to origin or even epic fail launcher. i see lot of drama from ignorant youtuber who just giving bad review on their channel because they are not good at it...

And yeah valve still doesnt cleare those review bombing and people still review bombing whenever theres a drama between dev and consumer. imagine video showcase have same problem.. double work for valve

So you need video to introduce yourself ? Is word, picture and text is not enought ? Or the easiest thing is Just add them why is it so hard to add their prof ??

What a load of bs

First of all theres age restriction on xxx games and theres profile setting to avoid said games they are infact implemented as the standard, they could add an instant ban if people upload actual sex rmovies in their showcase. Another way could be if steam was to allow such videos as well then valve could add a feature where people could tag their profile as for example 18+ profiles to avoid getting banned.

secondly what the hell does hate speech to do with videos sure a small ammount of people could upload such videos but look at my first suggestions. Personally im of the view though if people want to upload a video praising hitler or some other fool fine with me even though im in the complete opposite side of the political spectrum. Besides of that if people wants to post hate speech they can allready do that in their infor box but frankly im of the view people should be allowed to write whatever they want unless they actually incourage bodily harm on speciffic groups of peeple. That is atleast on their own profile page not in game hubs.

Epic origin uplay is allready there and if you want a strictly game related game portal why the hell wasting time writing in a game hub.

Doesnt really understand why some of you here are against this suggestion as you can just avoid clicking on said showcases if you doesnt want to watch them.
