[Fixed] New Steam update opens Steam with another icon even when it is pinned on the taskbar.
I already tried unpinning steam from the taskbar and pinning it again, but for some reason, it still keeps opening it in another icon. This is happening in Windows 10 currently. It only started doing this after the major update. I included a screenshot for those who don't know what I'm talking about. https://imgur.com/a/j5VFK30

It's actually been doing this for me for a while. So has Chrome. No idea what it's about either.

Ok, I finally found a fix for it. I did try unpinning and repinning, but the same thing would happen. It would open with another icon on the taskbar. So someone on some Microsoft forum suggested opening the program (Steam in my case), then unpinning the unhighlighted pinned one WHILE the opened one was still open, THEN repin it while it's still open from the taskbar, instead of simply unpinning and pinning again like any normal person would do. Strange and frustrating, but the problem is solved nonetheless.

I had this with Chrome in the Past, I Fixed the issue, but it caused the Program to not work cotrectly afterwards...

When my PC got Re-Installed at some later Date, the problem went away by its self...

Its a problem that gets shown when Windows 10, glitches up, or something... I think its just your PC trying to fix a Security in Privacy, or something, correct a change that was made, but its blocked, so it cant, & to Resolve it...

The PC just keeps Duplicating the ICONS when their Opened...

Its been so long, I cant remember the exact Trigger causing it...
This was happening on windows 7 for me last year when they switched to the new library. No one here knew the fix or just ignored my thread. I will try what you said in post 4 and get back to you. Cause i had made a custom icon for steam for the taskbar and i would pin it and it would open up in a new windows so it would have 2 icons. My custom one and steams bland original one.
