HOW TO REVERT THE UI UPDATE

If you're not a fan of the current update, and are hoping Valve gives you an option to disable it, you can always do the following in the meantime:

1. Find steam.exe in your steam folder
2. Make a shortcut
3. Right click it and access properties
4. In the "target" field, typie -nochatui -nofriendsui after the url.
5. Apply changes.
6. Close steam.
7. click on the shortcut to restart steam.

It should be right where it was before. I can't guarantee it'll work 100%.

I made a Shortcut for the Steam file. Went into properties, @target after D:\Steam\Steam.exe i typed in -nochatui and -nofriendsui. Still not working. Restarted steam. Tried to launch the shortcut. None working..?

Is the spacing correct? There's gotta be one space after the URL and then another space inbetween nochat and nofriends.

Yup. One space inbetween them all.

it should looks like this in Windows 8.1 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -nochatui -nofriendsui

try Crene's suggestion if you're in windows 8.1. Otherwise I would look for an alternative. It should be working.
