Installing DirectX hangup

So when ever I install a new game and it comes up with the installing directX it always hangs for me.. like always.. every computer I've had since I first got steam some good 10 years ago.. is it just me or??

Yes. It is. What version of direct X are you currently running(should be 12x, if on Windows X) what version needs to be Installed?

directx is a microsoft installer. If its dying then its likely your system is in some bad state where the installer is failing. You should run the installe rmanually and see what errors you're getting

I dunno, don't really care.. my point being that the little box says it installing and then just sits there forever until I close it.. it's not my PC it's done it on multiple computers ever since I first got steam maybe 10 years ago..

steam runs the windows installer for direct x

if that's stalling, guess what, the windows installer for directx is stalling

that's a system issue

it doesn't even run it just pops up the little grey box.. you know if you find the same bug on 15 different versions of windows then it's probably not windows.. but whatever your the expert apparently lol

it's not really an issue.. just wondered if others had same problem, it must be tied to my account somehow..
