Can I send gifts to different regions?

Ok since I am from India i cannot gift games at full 60$ price to someone in US, so if I go to humble bundle, buy a 20$ game, get the code and send the code via message to my friend in US, so he will be able to activate it on steam right ?? Will this work ??

I once gifted a friend in the US a game from Humble Bundle. It didn't work and I had to beg HB support to make it possible for the game to be redeemed in the US.

Just wanted to let you know that there might be issues even if region restrictions aren't mentioned anywhere,

I had no warning either. Not on the store page or during check out.
Did you buy the game for your HB account first and then sent the Steam key or did you send it as a gift link to your friend?

I used the option to send as a gift, so the key went directly to my friend, so they know I bought it for a friend.

You could try to contact the HB support and nicely ask them to change it to a redeemable gift.
Since you sent it as a direct gift they should be able to assist you.

Greenmangaming straight up says about regional locking, humble bundle needs ro step up their game. But sadly for some freaking reason I am just unable to buy games to my friend in US, steam gift card ? Denied, game for 60$ on steam ? Denied ! Humble bundle key for US based price ? Denied ! Greenmangaming ? Denied ! WTF is this only for India or what ? I got so many denied transactions that my card was blocked !

it worked! ! I had to show a screenshot that I didn't receive regional lock warning, and they sent a new key ! So happy !!

looks like steam doesn't want extra money, hence they implemented these nonsense things, just let us pick a region that matches with my friend's region and steam can verify that the person who is to receive the gift is actually from that specific region, and then show the that regional price and i will happily pay that price to gift a game ! but naaaaaaaaa they don't want that.
