Can you upload Nvidia screenshots to Steam?
Not as artwork, but as actual screenshots.

Apparently, for some reason, Steam doesn't detect Nvidia's Freestyle (or any kind of) effects. So I tried taking screenshots with Nvidia, converting them to jpg and moving them to Steam's folder. And surprise surprise, there is "an error" with "Steam Cloud". Is there anything I can actually do?

It wasn't taken by Steam's f12 in-house screenshot, so no? It's not part of their thumbnail system, or their program. So anything taken outside of the Steam screenshot function, is considered "art" and not "screenshot".

Actually, you can. Have to use browser instaed of Steam client, tho.
Goto game hub -> upload artwork page. Before clicking ok to uploading, open console (Ctrl+Shift+J for Google Chrome and Opera, dunno about other browsers) and use command
$J('[name="file_type"]').val("5");
and after that you'll upload your picture as screenshot, not as artwork.

I'm using this little cheat to make screenshots in games that not support Big Picture / Screenshots, like Princess & Conquest.

Hey, it works! Amazing!

Only two things: seems the image is uploaded twice (one screenshot is tagged with "artwork", second is tagged with the name of the game. And they don't have thumbnails in my profile / Screenshots. Is this normal?

Also, the name of the "title" does not (fully) appear, but that's not important.

Anyway, here it is:

Thanks mate!! :steamhappy:

The game's info is stored with Steam's processing. Not with anything else. So the ones taken with your steam overlay will have thumbnails, as *that is why they exist there*. Because Steam takes care of that for you. If you took it elsewhere, ... obviously, that .... won't be included in the steam system.

Well Steam creates thumbnails for your artwork, which follow the upload process kasmemoro mentioned, so my pictures should have one too, maybe it just takes time. I'm happy anyway.

There's a way to do what you want but you need to edit a file in the game folder, a steam file (I had to do it like a year ago, it was a one-time thing so I don't remember exactly) or you can use this:

It's the 'screenshots.vdf' file in \Steam\userdata\<UserID>\760

But SteaScree streamlines that process.

Bad part is, I will probably fill my Steam Cloud space in the next 30 days...

Then be much more picky about the things you upload.

What you take and what you show, can be *very* different things...

I mean, my 760 remote folder is... over 2.6 gigs and that's after removing stuff I know I want to keep more safe.
