I can't resume my download, everytime it's starting from the beginning
I was installing update of a game, ok, giving the name, ETS2, we all know that recently it's updated to ver 1.36. Anyway, my problem is, I have no access to unlimited data in my region. So, I was trying to download that huge update in parts, daily 300 MB. but I can't do that. Everytime when I try to resume, it is starting from the beginning. What should I do? Is the latest STEAM update doesn't support start_download-stop-resume-stop-resume-download_complete sequence?

How to know what's restricting STEAM from resuming the old download?

Open the Steam menu -> Settings -> Downloads -> Clear Download Cache. You will then have to start any downloads from the beginning, but it should solve the issue.

yes, dude, Ah,yes, one thing, steam was updated automatically and trying to restart, when 4 games in the queue for update and one still updating, ets2 was one of them.

You can only resume game downloads if you install the game fresh / reinstall, but not for an update of a game.

I think that happens if your downloading an update pauses it,then the dev brings out another update like an hot fix and that causes you to re-download the update again as its a different version now.

I know this post is a bit old but i had the issue and i think i've managed to fix it. I had steam on may main HD and all my game installs on a secondary HD. By installing steam to the same HD as the Games install it seems to fix it. Work right away for me

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
