Fraudulent Steam Wallet Codes
So I purchased around $13 - $15 of Steam wallet code from -removed-, they provided me the code, and I used it on steam, purchased the game, played it for hours, etc. After 24hrs my game got refunded due to a fraudulent Steam Wallet code, I created a ticket using the mobile app (since I was working) and got no reply after 6hrs. When I reached home, I opened steam, it instructed me to contact the reseller as why the code was fraudulent. So I did, and this support guy, told me to contact steam since they are the ones providing me the code.

Out of frustration, I ended up purchasing the game twice. If the game was hosted on a different platform, I would've jumped then and there, now I get why others pirate games because for these incidents. And I don't blame them in doing so. I know I'm gonna get a lotta hate on this post, and I know it is a small amount. But where I live, we work hard to earn that. And I paid ♥♥♥♥♥♥ TWICE for the game.

The reseller is at fault. He might have done a charge back on the code after you redeemed it, or he sold you a code purchased with a stolen credit card. GCash is a payment method, not a store. Where did you actually find the seller? Out of curiosity, why did you buy from them rather than an official/authorized seller like Steam Store, or Gamestop (online)? It sucks you got scammed, but this could literally happen for any platform that redeems codes (all of them do).

This is not at all a Steam issue. Buying wallet codes this way is highly risky. In the future, buy the wallet code directly from Steam or a store yourself.

Contact the retailer you purchased it from. Valve has nothing to do with it.

It's not steams fault and that guy is blowing smoke up your wazzoo. I'd file a complaint against them with the credit card company or paypal for fraud.
Don't ever buy from them again if they aren't willing to take responsibility.

Also, steam generated codes I'm pretty sure would use a pretty air-tight algorithm to come up with them for the cards. More than likely, they have some kind of code generator they're using or were stolen cards and that's why it even went through initially. There's probably only an extreeeemely rare percentage of misprints for legit codes.
Don't play with fire and you won't get burnt mate.

Bought the code on GCash, and they just texted me the code.

You can buy wallet credits directly through Steam...
https://store.steampowered.com/steamaccount/addfunds

I'm always interested in people's reasoning when they use grey market sites and then get mad at the developer or Steam when that decision doesn't work out. You think they owe you? They should take the loss because you imagine your grey market purchases are that valuable to them? Just no.

Making poor and ill informed choices is not any sort of rationalization for piracy.

And of course the scammy grey market site selling fraudulent codes is giving you the run around. You need to get ahold of your bank or whatever to get your money back.

Sucks man, but you pay to play mate...Just do it legit next time... Sometimes deals are too good to be true and are detrimental to your own happiness.

When I go to GCash I just see an app used to pay people, I couldn't find any items for purchase anywhere.

I'm assuming you went to the list of merchants and found one that sold Steam Wallet codes. I would report that seller to GCash as they scammed you. They might even give you that 15 percent off your first purchase again. Never use the seller that sold you the code again though.

GCash is legit as a payment method here. And then they provide you with the codes.
