Save Games and Achievements
Hello all,
If I get a save game from someone that already unlocked achievements, would it also unlock my achievements? I'm speaking for any games.

Thanks, THartmann9374

No, it wouldn't. You can sometimes download game saves at key events in a game, complete the mission / quest and then unlock that individual achievement afterwards, but it won't unlock all the achievements done prior to those save points.

Actually depends on the game

No. It heavily depends on the game in question, either the game will trigger the achievements by loading the save, unlocking one thing to unlock the rest, or you need to do the task in order to trigger the achievement, meaning you have to play the game, to do it. This apply on PC, and console, as it varies for each game how the calling for the achievements were setup.

Depends on the game, and actually each individual achievement.

As an example, when I got the Steam version of Borderlands, I loaded my old save and immediately got a whole bunch of achievements. However, SOME were missing, even though I would qualify.

There's simply no requirement for how games handle their achievements.

I know you can do that with pillars of eternity. Just gotta walk around a bit first.
