Latest Steam Update incompatible with Windows 7?
Steam just updated the client on my Win 7 computer and now it won't start. Is this issue happening to anyone else or should I uninstall Steam and re-install? TIA

Far as I know some people are using Steam just fine on Windows 7, don't see anyone having problems ATM.

Far as I know beta got updated on the 31st, and that was it.

To reinstall, to keep games, and screenshots, head to your Steam folder, move these two folders, Steamapp, and Userdata folder, put them on desktop, now uninstall Steam, and ensure Steam folder is gone, if not delete it, then reinstall Steam, run it, when get to login, don't login, just close Steam, place back the two folders Steamapp, and userdata folder back in the Steam folder, it will ask if you want to replace, click yes, and then launch Steam, and test.

Works perfectly fine on mine. What error are you getting?
Steam works on my system. 64 bit win 7.
Works fine Steam hasn't changed anything and still supports windows 7.
There was no updates recently.
Just restart your system see if that fixes it.
Thanks all for prompt and helpful replies. I've restarted my system and will try to re-start Steam and let you know here.

My computer had been in Sleep mode. I had turned off Steam before I put it there. When I woke up the computer, I started Steam. As it was starting/installing, my computer crashed to restart. Then when I tried to start Steam again, I got an error message saying Steam is not compatible with this version of my OS.
I still get the error message:

"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check you're computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."

I'm running a licensed Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. So I guess next step is un-installing Steam and re-installing it.
I removed “Steamapps” and “Userdata” folder from Steam. Uninstalled it and re-installed it. Replaced the two folders. Everything working correctly now. Thanks.
Glad your issue has been resolved.
